Due to rapid changes in technology and the structure of the diesel after-sales market, global automotive technology supplier Delphi had to rethink its European communications strategy.
The client identified a need to focus on communicating with national importers and exporters (where it was essential to get the attention of key decision makers), as well as technicians at garage level (where the priority was to impart the latest technology, products and training). In order to get closer to this audience of smaller companies and independent garages, a more down-to-earth, less corporate approach was required.
The proposition
With content ranging from technician interviews and World Rally Championship developments to new product launches, it was decided that a magazine would be the most suitable and engaging choice of publication style.
The results
TechTalk, Issue 1, was so well received by Delphi and their customers that it is now an ongoing publication, which is translated into 14 other languages. Its continuing global success has led to the development of related online ‘How to’ videos, integration of QR code technology and mobile app development.
